JOB SUMMARY
The Benefits team is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and management of benefits and resources to attract, retain, and develop top talent. The Benefits Analyst is a key member of the Benefits Delivery team, playing leading and partnering roles to support the operations and administration of Marriott’s benefits plans and programs. The Benefits Analyst will assist in the administration and analysis of employee benefits programs. This role involves supporting the senior team members in managing benefits plans, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of benefits administration and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
_Required_
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience
• Basic understanding of employee benefits programs and regulations.
• 0-2 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
_Preferred_
• Internship experience in Human Resources or Benefits Administration
• Project management experience
• Specific experience with Oracle HCM, Alight TBA, and/or WTW’s benefits administration solution
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Responsible for benefit plan administration and operations activities for a variety of benefits, including:
• Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leaves, and other benefits.
• Help maintain accurate records and documentation related to benefits administration.
• Support the benefits escalations process including mailbox management, response to simple requests, and research and analysis for more complex issues. Work includes coordination with a range of outsource partners to gather data and propose resolutions to benefits leadership.
• Identify patterns in escalations to propose solutions to benefits leadership to avoid future escalations, including preparing reports and presentations based on research findings.
• Help ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits and leaves, including assistance monitoring changes in regulations and updating relevant stakeholders of benefit and leave programs accordingly.
• Provide support in the preparation of benefits communications and materials, including managing the process to update benefits content on the company’s intranet and other communication channels.
• Assist in responding to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs.
• Provide support with the department’s accounts payable processing, including invoice tracking, reconciliations, and audit assistance.
• Work collaboratively with senior team members to achieve departmental goals.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on benefits-related topics.
The salary range for this position is $70,600 to $111,400 annually. Marriott offers a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.
