Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Coding Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in medical coding, with 5-8 years of experience, including previous management responsibilities. This role involves overseeing coding operations, collaborating with clients, and educating teams on best practices in the industry. Candidates with prior experience in revenue cycle management services and a strong grasp of coding systems and classifications will excel in this position. Additionally, strong presentation and public-speaking capabilities are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage and oversee medical coding operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
+ Collaborate with clients to deliver coding education, conduct audits, and host seminars.
+ Serve as both a team leader and a "player/coach," contributing to day-to-day coding activities as needed while mentoring team members.
+ Deliver verbal and in-person presentations to clients on coding updates, trends, and compliance.
+ Prepare detailed coding and compliance reports for clients and management.
+ Stay updated with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards and maintain certifications.
Requirements

+ Experience:
+ 5-8 years of professional experience in medical coding, including management experience.
+ Previous experience working in a revenue cycle management service is preferred.
+ Certifications:
+ Must hold valid and up-to-date medical coding certifications such as CPC, CPB, or equivalent.
+ Skills & Competencies:
+ In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
+ Exceptional verbal and physical presentation abilities for engaging with clients and hosting seminars.
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage teams effectively in a collaborative environment.
+ Detail-oriented with proficiency in coding compliance, audits, and reporting.
+ Other: Ability to travel as required to client locations for seminars or presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
+ Credentials such as RHIA or RHIT are highly desirable
