Description We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations and strategy of our organization in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role will oversee fiscal planning, compliance, and sustainability while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The CFO will play a critical role in ensuring financial health, driving mission-aligned decisions, and fostering relationships with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and long-term sustainability goals.
• Provide in-depth financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning and organizational growth.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and compliance with tax laws.
• Manage cash flow projections and financing strategies to meet operational requirements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department leaders to align financial plans with program objectives.
• Supervise finance and accounting teams, promoting accountability and fostering growth and development.
• Cultivate relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, and regulatory agencies to secure funding and maintain compliance.
• Monitor external economic and regulatory factors, adjusting financial strategies as needed.
• Evaluate and oversee risk management, insurance matters, and contractual agreements.
• Drive process improvements and implement technology solutions to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; master’s degree or CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, including 5 years in senior leadership and 7 years of supervisory roles.
• Strong expertise in real estate development, property management, or affordable housing sectors preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and mentor teams effectively.
• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in financial software such as Excel, Yardi, and Blackbaud.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated success in risk management and maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
• Ability to adapt to changing economic and regulatory environments while maintaining strategic focus.
