**VCA Ragland & Riley Animal Hospital** is seeking a **Veterinary Assistant** to join our hospital!

**Schedule:**    Full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays, 4 x 10 hours

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

+ Answering phones andscheduling appointments.

+ Assist veterinarians and technicians during patient exams and treatments.

+ Handle and restrain animals safely and appropriately.

+ Obtain patient histories and update medical records.

+ Educate clients on generalpet care, vaccines, and preventative medicine.

+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.

+ Support withlaboratory sample collection, x-rays, and otherdiagnostic testing.

+ Assist in handling prescription medications and refills per veterinary instructions.

+ Provide compassionate and professional client communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ At least **1 year of experience** in a veterinary clinical setting (general practice, ER, or specialty) preferred.

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and guide clients.

+ Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
