Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support and optimize our metal fabrication operations. This role involves developing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency in a fast-paced fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with metalworking techniques, CNC machinery, and lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for metal fabrication including cutting, forming, welding, machining, and finishing.

+ Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

+ Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and prototypes.

+ Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities for cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and quality enhancement.

+ Support the setup and programming of CNC machines, robotic welders, and other automated equipment.

+ Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues and quality defects.

+ Implement lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping.

+ Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.

+ Assist in the selection and implementation of new tools, fixtures, and technologies.

+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

+ 3+ years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.

+ Strong understanding of metalworking processes (e.g., MIG/TIG welding, laser cutting, press brake operations).

+ Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM tools.

+ Experience with CNC programming and machine setup.

+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.

+ Familiarity with GD&T and precision measurement tools.

+ Six Sigma certification or lean manufacturing training.

+ Experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
