Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team, where you will play a critical role in fabricating and assembling metal structures and components. You will be working with various metals, including steel and zinc, to produce high-quality welds in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints to understand project specifications.
+ Operate welding machines and connect cables properly, adjusting settings for optimal weld penetration and appearance.
+ Activate and adjust gas mixtures and pressures to achieve the desired flame for cutting.
+ Guide welding electrodes or guns along weld lines, maintaining arc length and speed to join edges of workpieces under supervision.
+ Position and secure parts using bolts, clamps, or tack welding to prepare for welding.
+ Perform welding on flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts, including steel and zinc components.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MIG welding and experience with stainless steel.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
+ Familiarity with welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, flux core, and stick welding.
+ Experience in fabrication, fitting, and assembly of metal structures.
+ Competence in using a tape measure and reading measurements accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Six months of welding experience or equivalent certification.
+ Experience with grinding, sheet metal, mild steel, carbon steel, and aluminum welding is beneficial.

Work Environment
This role is based in a typical job shop environment, which can be hot, dirty, and not the best lit. You will work around galvanized steel, so comfort in an industrial setting is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
