Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of diesel engines and associated systems. Your expertise will ensure the efficient operation and safety of heavy trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities
+ Adjust and replace air brake systems, including chambers and diagnose brake systems.
+ Work with heavy truck and trailer wiring systems.
+ Repair and maintain diesel engines from manufacturers such as Cummins, Cat, Paccar, and International.
+ Perform fabrication tasks, including wire feed and stick welding.
+ Repair and maintain hydraulic pumps and cylinders.
+ Work with DPF and exhaust after-treatment systems.
+ Repair and replace truck tires.
+ Handle medium-duty trucks, specifically Ford F-550 with 6.7L diesel engines.
+ Diagnose and repair small engines.
+ Service electric trailer brakes.
+ Ensure punctuality, safety, and cleanliness in the work area.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in diesel engine repair, including Cummins, Cat, Paccar, and International engines.
+ Knowledge of air brake systems and their components.
+ Experience with heavy truck and trailer wiring systems.
+ Fabrication skills, including wire feed and stick welding.
+ Expertise in hydraulic systems, including pumps and cylinders.
+ Experience with DPF and exhaust after-treatment systems.
+ A/C certification for R-134A systems.
+ Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-3 years of heavy equipment or farming experience.
+ Clean driving record.
+ Ability to pass a drug test.
+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
+ Ability to travel locally, covering up to 150 miles daily.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NEWBURG, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
