Job Title: Testing Technician III
Job Description
As a Testing Technician III, you will be responsible for testing production sub-assemblies, modules, and systems to ensure their proper operation according to established test criteria and daily priorities assigned by the Test Supervisor. You will troubleshoot production units, PCB’s, and sub-assemblies down to the component level to determine the cause of any non-conformance. Your role includes performing thorough inspections prior to testing, executing necessary repairs, and conducting the Burn-In process where required.
Responsibilities
+ Test production sub-assemblies, modules, and systems according to established criteria.
+ Troubleshoot and repair production units, PCB's, and sub-assemblies to component level.
+ Perform thorough inspections prior to testing on a daily basis.
+ Execute required repairs to restore units to operational state and test to factory specifications.
+ Conduct Burn-In process as required.
+ Identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine root cause.
+ Use test fixtures to test modules and circuit boards.
+ Notify Test & QC Manager of any defective test equipment or fixtures.
+ Operate oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, loads, and test fixtures.
+ Use hand tools and small power tools effectively.
+ Maintain a clean and safe workbench area.
+ Follow all safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
+ Acquire parts from the stockroom for repairs as needed.
+ Report unusual problems during testing for investigation.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting electrical components.
+ 3-5 years of experience in high volume testing for subassemblies.
+ Experience with schematic, thru hole, circuit board testing.
+ Skilled in using oscilloscopes, DMM, Hi-Pot, clamps, transformers, diodes, and transistors.
+ Ability to conduct bench testing, calibration, and work with electrical panels.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with High Power electronics—480 VAC, single phase and three phase power.
+ Knowledge of AC to AC Converter Systems preferred.
+ Familiarity with IGBT’s, analog circuitry, and AC-DC conversion.
+ Knowledge of through hole and SMT circuitry.
+ Power supply experience.
+ Understanding of Power Factor Correction circuitry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr.
