    We're looking for a Medical Certification Specialist to join our Developmental Disabilities Division . Our Developmental Disabilities Division is committed to ensuring quality services, serving as the Single Point of Entry (SPOE) into the developmental disabilities services system.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A current Louisiana license in a health services field, health regulation field, or social services field plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

    A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services; OR

    A master's degree in a health services field, health regulation field, or a social services field plus two years of experience in hospital or nursing home administration, health services, health regulation, or social services.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    In this role, you will:

    + Review plans of care submitted for annual Waiver program recertification. Conduct thorough reviews of the Comprehensive Plan of Cares/electronic Plan of Cares (ePOC) and supporting documents using the Individual Supports Review Protocols providing feedback to Support Coordinator on corrections needed to the Plan of Care.

    + Make determination for continuation of waiver services within 10 business days as outlined in state and federal Medicaid policy and procedures.

    + Upon receipt of an Initial plan of care and after mandated pre-certification home visit, make determination of medical eligibility for certification for waiver services within 10 days of plan receipt and submits notice of Medical Certification (Form 142) to Medicaid office.

    + Obtain information from review of records, applicant/recipient interview and personal observation during home visits to make determination of eligibility for certification into waiver service program.

    + Make determination of medical eligibility within 10 days of receipt of plan of care and submit Medicaid Notice of Medical Certification (Form 142) to Medicaid.

    + Evaluate overall effectiveness of recipient’s plan ensuring personal outcomes and person- centered goals are identified appropriately within each plan as well as evaluate how supports will ensure the individual’s health and safety in the community setting.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Probational or permanent

     

    Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

     

    Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
