    THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is looking for a Roadway Programs Technician 1 in Bedford County. In this position, you will play a vital role in reviewing, analyzing, and developing maintenance operations to ensure our organization runs smoothly and efficiently.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    You will undertake technical responsibilities to support the evaluation, analysis, and enhancement of maintenance operations in alignment with the objectives set by management and the policies of the department within Bedford County. Your role will involve assisting in the assessment of work plans to ensure a balanced program, confirming the availability of necessary labor, materials, equipment, and funding for their execution. You will also help make necessary adjustments to these work plans and review data from the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) Plant Maintenance and Roadway Management Systems to ensure that program goals are met and overall system control is upheld. Additionally, you will review foreman payrolls for accuracy and serve as a backup for payroll processing. By utilizing reports, you will monitor work data, including completed production units, man-hours, equipment usage, and material consumption, addressing any discrepancies that arise. Furthermore, you will review and monitor work data to ensure compliance with the County Maintenance Measurement Tool (CMMT) standards and provide recommendations for organizational improvements.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bedford.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent;or

    + An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
