The Inventory Control Coordinator ll position supports daily material handling and inventory accuracy efforts. This mid-level role is responsible for receiving inspection, accurate storage, and preparation of kits for production use. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a proactive attitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
+ Receive and inspect incoming packages for accuracy against pack slips and purchase orders.
+ Identify and report discrepancies or damage in received materials.
+ Label, bin, and place inventory into designated locations.
+ Pick parts from inventory and assemble kits for production.
+ Deliver material kits and stock to appropriate production areas.
+ Perform cycle counts and support regular physical inventory activities.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory areas.
+ Operate pallet jacks and other non-powered handling tools (forklift if certified).
+ Troubleshoot discrepancies in received shipments and support root cause resolution.
+ Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile variances in ERP system.
+ Maintain bin locations and initiate reorganization for optimization.
+ Assist in documenting scrap, excess, and obsolete inventory.
+ Support kitting strategies aligned with production requirements.
+ Interface with purchasing and production teams to clarify inventory issues.
+ Train Level 1 team members on procedures and safety practices.
+ Operate forklifts and material handling equipment routinely.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
+ Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
+ Understand transportation methods across air, rail, sea, or road, including their relative costs and benefits.
+ Familiar with raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing and distribution.
+ Skilled in time management for self and others, capable of handling multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and meeting deadlines.
+ Proficient in administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
+ Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods as required by task assignment.
+ Frequent standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
+ Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
+ Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors, necessary for both office tasks and production work.
+ Must have the physical stamina to adapt to varying workload demands and stand or sit for prolonged periods depending on the specific tasks of the day.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
+ Work is split between a partially environmentally controlled indoor manufacturing area and a professional office setting. Temperatures in the manufacturing area can fluctuate between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F in the office.
+ Exposure to varying noise levels from moderate in the office to loud on the production floor; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
+ Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals with adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required. Safety glasses and closed-toed shoes are mandatory when on the production floor.
+ Regular interaction with team members, guests, and clients in a professional setting. Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
+ Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) are required for specific tasks on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
+ High school diploma or GED received. Further education desired.
+ 2-4 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory setting preferred.
+ Forklift experience/certification preferred.
+ Must have strong computer skills and proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft programs.
+ Valid driver’s license in good standing.
