    As **Corporate Director of Procurement** , you’ll have an opportunity to shape the systems and processes behind one of the nation’s leading heavy civil infrastructure builders. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead companywide procurement operations to drive greater efficiency and directly influence performance and success across our company.

     

    Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO, you’ll work across operations, finance, legal, IT, and project teams. As the company’s top procurement leader, you’ll be responsible for developing and evolving policies, standardizing practices, and implementing systems that improve field execution, mitigate risk, and strengthen the bottom line.

    Responsibilities

    The Corporate Director of Procurement will lead and influence the following areas:

    + **Companywide procurement and materials management** : Oversee all activities required to acquire materials, equipment, and services that meet project or company specifications, ensuring timely delivery to the point of use and alignment with quality, value, and contractual requirements.

    + **Team leadership and resource planning** : Manage all procurement staff directly or through shared oversight of project-based personnel, ensuring projects are adequately staffed with qualified procurement resources.

    + **Standardization of procurement processes** : Develop and implement companywide procurement protocols, including the creation and maintenance of standardized contract templates and procedures.

    + **Performance monitoring and risk mitigation** : Track procurement and materials management progress, identifying potential issues early and resolving changes, disputes, or claims in a timely and effective manner.

    + **Contract negotiation and compliance oversight:** Lead the review, negotiation, and approval of all subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring adherence to company policies and risk management protocols.Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.

    + **Document and sourcing review** : Approve source lists, bid analysis summaries, purchase orders, subcontracts, and other procurement-related documents in close collaboration with operations and estimating teams.

    + **Supplier ethics and best value selection:** Maintain oversight of controls that ensure suppliers are treated fairly and ethically, company interests are protected, and best-value awards are consistently achieved.

    + **Proposal and business development support** : Provide procurement expertise to support new business pursuits and proposal development efforts.

    + **Market intelligence and continuous improvement** : Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and more efficient use of procurement resources.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, economics or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.

    + Extensive experience in construction, performing procurement and materials management functions with 4 years of management responsibility.

    + Knowledgeable on DFAR/FAR requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Previous heavy civil construction project experience

    + Experience in computerized procurement systems

    + Experience in the management of staff who are not centrally located

    + Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders

    + Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks

    + Highly organized with excellent time management skills

    Additional Information:

    + Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

    + The position is based in our corporate headquarters in Irvine, CA, hybrid, or remote within the U.S., and requires time spent at project sites, corporate offices, and associated travel. We expect to work with the candidate to establish a schedule that incorporates remote and hybrid work options tailored to each candidate’s specific circumstances.

    + This position does not include sponsorship for a United States work authorization.

     

    The salary range for this position is between **$200,000** **- $240,000** per year depending on experience and/or education.
