    Position Summary ? The Director of Supply Chain Services is responsible for the direction and leadership of the operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Supply Chain Services at Hunterdon Health. This encompasses the overall supply chain, procurement, acquisition and distribution of materials, equipment and services, by maintaining the supply inventory in a cost saving and timely manner for the organization. The Director is responsible for establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for the Health System. In addition, this role will also serve as a resource to senior management and physicians in matters related to purchasing procedures, expense reduction initiatives, value analysis and contract negotiations. Directs and responsible for departmental function of Courier and Mail services. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Supports and attains organizational goals

     

    2. Interprets impact of broad scope organizational change for staff and develops change strategies for successful implementation 3. Incorporates Hunterdon Health’s vision, mission and values in goals and programs within Supply Chain 4. Develops and manages operational initiatives with measurable outcomes 5. Formulates objectives, goals, and strategies collaboratively with other stakeholders 6. Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety, marketing, and human resources 7. Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes, engaging staff in the process 8. Monitors and analyzes financial data and utilizes for decisions regarding FTE’s, staffing and operational budgeting 9. Establishes annual operating and capital budgets for the department, demonstrating fiscal responsibility through meeting budget targets 10. Provides oversight for surgical & patient care value analysis committees, analyzing cost benefit of requested new product introductions 11. Directs and provides guidance to managers to effectively allocate resources based on patient volume, space availability, budget constraints, and program priorities, goals, and objectives 12. Organizes and prioritizes time and resources to manage efficiency 13. Appropriately delegates 14. Remains current of new trends and best practices and incorporates into Supply Chain Services practices and programs 15. Demonstrates achievable and measurable results and develop action plans for improvement 16. Ensures development of Supply Chain Services initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and experience 17. Actively listens to staff ideas and concerns, assesses others communication styles and adapts to them 18. Effectively facilitates meetings at Supply Chain Services and organizational level 19. Articulates and presents data, information, and ideas in a clear and concise manner 20. Communicates opinions and ideas in a nonthreatening and nonjudgmental manner to staff, peers and others 21. Communicates with physicians and senior administrators 22. Manages the complex interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships to assure collaboration and effective/efficient operations within Supply Chain Services 23. Exhibits awareness of personal attitudes and beliefs, recognizing its effect on response to others 24. Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support the department 25. Assesses manager and staff development needs, identifies goals and provides resources 26. Leads and/or serves in a variety of appropriate internal and external committees to represent Supply Chain Services and system needs 27. Provides oversight of Vizient and Captis GPOs, concentrating on optimum participation and savings Work Contact Group (Internal/External) ? Regular and frequent contact with administration, physicians, vendors, agencies, and hospital employees in providing service and information resolving issues and obtaining agreements.

    Assistant Director Materials Management, OR Inventory Control Manager, MMIS Applications Coordinator, Coordinator Inventory Control, Senior Buyer, Buyer, Lead Supply Distribution Technician, Supply Distribution Technicians, Couriers Driver, Mailroom Associates

     

    Qualifications ? Minimum Education: o Required: o Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area such as business, finance, supply chain or relevant field within 3 years o o Preferred: o Master’s degree in a relevant subject area such as business, finance, supply chain or relevant field.

     

    ? Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): o Required: o 3 years relevant experience in Supply Chain management/leadership within healthcare or related industry o o Preferred: o 5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain management/leadership within healthcare or related industry o ? License, Registry or Certification: o Required: ? None o o Preferred: ? None

    ? Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: o Required: ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Demonstrated creativity and flexibility ? Ability to operate in high-pressure situations ? Excellent organizational skills ? Demonstrated innovative approach to problem resolution ? Ability to work collaboratively across Health System entities and disciplines ? Effective analytical ability to develop and analyze options, recommend solutions to and solve complex problems and issues ? Demonstrated effective managerial and administrative leadership ? Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchasing ? Effective organizational, planning and project management abilities ? Experience in financial and programmatic presentations ? Ability to function independently and deal with multiple, simultaneous projects ? Ability to implement change in a positive, sensitive, and forward- thinking manner ? Ability to effect collaborative and promote teamwork

    ? Ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction including employees, patients, visitors, faculty, referring physicians and external stakeholders ? Strong computer skills ? Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
