    Summary

    Reporting to the Supervisor of Quality Control, the associate scientist will help support the establishment of a new Quality Control laboratory which supports RayzeBio's Isotope Production process in Indianapolis. The associate scientist will be providing support for the qualification and validation of analytical and radiochemical equipment for the QC lab. This position will conduct inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process controls, and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory standards. Specifically, the associate scientist will support the manufacture release of isolated isotopes to support RayzeBio's clinical programs.

    Job Responsibilities

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Perform routine and non-routine analyses according to validated/verified methods to support RayzeBio isotope production.

    + Record data and analyze results quickly and accurately to ensure timely completion of final product testing and release.

    + Assist in the development, reviewing, and continuous improvement of laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and related documents.

    + Coordinate calibration and preventative maintenance of all laboratory equipment and materials as needed.

    + Troubleshoot and investigate analytical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions as required.

    + Develop and maintain appropriate documentation, particularly data analysis.

    + Participate and support instrument qualification, calibration, and maintenance activities.

    + Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, safety guidelines, and quality standards.

    + Work with RSO to ensure laboratory compliance with the radiation safety programs.

    + Provide technical support to other teams or business units as required.

    + Position is a first shift position. Occasional work outside first shift is expected on an as-needed basis.

    Education and Experience

    + Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science - or equivalent combination of education and work experience, with 1-3 years of analytical or radiochemistry experience

    + Knowledge of and experience with ICP-MS, HPGe, and TLC is preferred

    Skills and Qualification

    + Highly motivated and organized professional with the ability to work independently or in a team environment

    + Some related experience or training in a laboratory setting with good laboratory practices

    + Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities at one time

    + Familiarity with sample preparation and general bench chemistry techniques

    + Experience with quality - regulated analytical testing adhering to ICH, EP, USP, etc. standards

    + Experience with root cause techniques such as 6 M's, 5 Why's, fishbone, or similar preferred

    + Very personable with strong communication skills

    + Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information

     

    Physical Demands

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

     

    This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment, protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in a laboratory environment with radioactive materials .

     

    Work Environment

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    The starting compensation for this job is a range from $ 70,822 - $85,800 , plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
