Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Sales Support Consultant at its facility located at 5205 N O’Connor Blvd, Irving, TX 75039. Manage & develop ~$15M sales portfolio of upgrade & retrofit repair options. The Upgrade and Retrofit portfolio have complex and technical upgrades covering: Engine Performance, Control Systems, Emissions and Alternative Fuels. Train and build relationships with 30 Global Cat Sales Representatives. Develop regional specific training for Dealer leadership and sales representatives. Serve as the Global specialist for Generator Set Upgrades and Retrofits. Possess the technical knowledge around large engines, generator sets, control systems and general maintenance and overhaul practices. Develop short-term (annual) business plans to achieve business targets. Resolve issues related to the products and overall commercial performance in the territory; and oversee market share trends, demand fluctuations, and basic customer requirements. Develop long-term growth strategies by understanding industry, regulatory, product and customer trends. Develop new geographical areas for the organization's products or services. Develop new prospects and find opportunity to expand existing offerings. Implement common business development incentive programs. Understand the latest developments and emerge issues in the industry, raising awareness of industry standards, practices, and guidelines. Grow Upgrade and Retrofit sales 100% over the next 4 years (new offerings). Translate customer requirements into profitable development projects. Document technical customer requirements and concerns. Develop profitable business cases in support of development. Pitch business case for product group leadership for funding. Prioritize engineering resources towards highest opportunity projects. Deliver completed project to field teams. Train, develop and market the material to drive sales. Work and guide Caterpillar Product Group Engineers on development projects. Proactively manage the timeline and cost of programs. Research approaches for exploring new business opportunities. Develop marketing material in support of Upgrade and Retrofit offerings to grow global sales. Translate technical information into customer and dealer facing sales material. Develop and present to senior Leadership and decision makers at Cat, Dealers and customers. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 8 years of experience in OEM Technical Sales and Marketing or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 7 years of experience in Product Support Sales (Aftermarket Sales) in Large Engine or Heavy Equipment support; (2) 7 years of experience with Large Engine or Generator Set maintenance and product support practices; (3) 7 years of experience working with heavy machinery Dealerships in sales development; (4) Supporting sales in multiple global markets; (5)Project management and new product introduction programs; and (6) Data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Telecommuting: 2 days/week. Travel: Up to 50% domestic and international.
Summary Pay Range:
$183,581.00 - $217,320.00
