    Join Novant Health's Public Affairs team as a Public Affairs Specialist, where you'll research, write, and create content to push for healthcare policy wins. This role is perfect for someone with campaign and/or communication experience who wants to use their skills to fight for healthcare solutions that matter for our patients and communities.

    Additional Skills Required:

    You can write clearly for different audiences - from policymakers to broader audiences on social media. You've created content for digital platforms and press before. You are energized by learning learn complex topics and where they fit in the always-changing political landscape. You're organized, can juggle multiple projects when things get busy, and thrive working in a team. You know your way around Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Excel) and Asana or other project management tools.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Write content that works - Create clear and engaging articles, policy briefs, talking points, and digital content that align with public affairs priorities and issue focus areas.

    + Draft social media content that grows our audience and other digital content as needed to support our public affairs campaigns.

    + Help create presentations, briefings, reports, and other materials for both internal teams and external audiences.

    + Keep tabs on the news and policy changes, then give the team regular updates so we can stay proactive.

    + Support events - Help plan and coordinate policy meetings, briefings, and community events.

    + Jump in on special projects when the team needs extra hands.

    Qualifications

    + Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Related Degree.

    + Experience: Three or more years of political or issue campaign, media advocacy, or government relations communications preferred.

    + Additional skills required:

    + Exemplary interpersonal skills that translate into positive relationships with external contacts, internal colleagues and leaders.

    + Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write clearly and accurately in non-technical terms about complex policy.

    + Ability to demonstrate initiative, ownership and accountability of projects.

    + Ability to function effectively in an environment with multiple and fluctuating priorities; successfully manage multiple priority projects simultaneously without significant direct supervision.

    + Skilled at Microsoft Office suite to include PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Excel.
