POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College is seeking applications for the Registrar position. The Registrar is a progressive leader responsible for the Office of the Registrar and the functions within, including registration, records maintenance, course scheduling, graduation, transcripts, readmission, residency, and student services. As part of the Division of Enrollment Management, the Registrar reports to the Executive Director of Enrollment Services. As a critical member of the enrollment management team, the Registrar works to support the College’s enrollment and student success initiatives. The Registrar works collaboratively with other service areas, such as the Bursar, Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Center of Academic Advisement and Student Success to oversee registration processes and interacts regularly with academic administration, department chairs, faculty, and other senior administrators. The Registrar oversees the operation of the college’s
computerized student information management system, the maintenance of automated degree audit, as well as upgrades and transitions to new and more innovative systems.
Along with the CUNY Title overview, the Registrar’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Provide leadership and develop appropriate recommendations for the implementation of related technology application in support of the College’s enrollment goals and enhancing services offered in the Registrar’s Office.
+ Assess enrollment data to identify trends and/or enrollment challenges and work with the appropriate entities to implement changes to improve student enrollment outcomes.
+ Analyze the course schedule and work with Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Institutional Research, and Information Technology to inform student course demand and ensure timely graduation.
+ Implement curriculum changes to support the development of academic course schedules.
+ Ensure reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations; maintain audit trails.
+ Direct, organize and administer the records, registration, graduation, and readmission functions to provide maximum service to students while ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
+ Oversee the complete graduation audit process and production of diplomas; Supervise the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications.
+ Responsible for collecting, recording, maintaining and reporting of student records with FERPA guidelines, e.g., grades, registration data, transcripts, enrollment verification, curriculum management, and attendance reporting, among others.
+ Research, analyze, and resolve student disputes as they relate to records and registration.
+ Collaborate with administrators, deans, faculty, IT, and counselors to facilitate and improve services to students, including catalog, registration and records policy issues.
+ Serve on the CUNY Council of Registrars. Serve as Ex-Officio on various Faculty Council committees.
+ Hire, supervise, evaluate and develop the Registrar’s Office staff; Manage office budget.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
+ Participate in professional development activities and serve on college committees that support the goals and objectives of the division of the college.
+ Provide back-up for records and registration services, including registering students, issuing transcripts, answering phones, scanning, grade changes, graduation audits, course schedules, and working special events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in higher education, education administration, information technology or related discipline.
+ Demonstrated progressive leadership skills.
+ Managerial experience in higher education in registrar related role.
+ Strong computer skills including integrated information management systems, extensive experience with PeopleSoft (CUNYfirst) or other records systems, in the area usually encompassed by Registrar operations highly desirable.
+ A working knowledge of governmental and accrediting regulations, including FERPA, Veterans’ Administration, and NCAA regulations.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, analytic and problem-solving skills.

Directs College registration operations and serves as Registrar.
- Provides leadership in advancing the College's enrollment goals and is responsible for all activities associated with the registration process
- Develops strategic plan to address student enrollment, registration activities, data collection and dissemination, records confidentiality and degree audit protocol; assures quality of testing and implementation of system updates
- Oversees a wide array of enrollment and retention initiatives and special projects; recommends and administers enhanced technology applications to improve processing systems and data integrity
- Assesses outcomes and formulates responses to meet established goals and objectives; presents performance results data to facilitate executive decision-making
- Ensures reporting requirements are completed in timely and accurate manner to fulfill various legal obligations; maintains audit trails
- Manages professional and clerical staff as well as department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$119,995 - $129,310; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25 effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
