Job Overview

Bee Sweet Citrus is looking to hire a motivated, self-driven Fabricator to join our packing house team. This position will be responsible for working with our Fabrication and Maintenance teams to address any and all fabrication related needs for the packing house. Examples could include, but are not limited to, welding/repairing damaged equipment, constructing catwalks/equipment, building conveyors, and more. Additionally, it is expected to perform these tasks with the utmost regard to safety. Safety is paramount at Bee Sweet Citrus. This is a full-time position that will require you being available to work Monday through Saturday, day or night shift as required.

Bee Sweet Citrus provides ALL necessary tools for mechanics to perform their job including uniforms and personal protective equipment.

Duties / Responsibilities

+ Fabrication, welding, cutting, and assembly of components/materials as required for packing house, operations, or other equipment needs

+ Material preparation including planning work, selecting appropriate materials, ordering all required equipment, and any other details necessary for a successful project

+ Inspect finished products to ensure they meet high quality standards. Review for effectiveness and potential opportunities for improvement in the future

+ Routine preventive maintenance on fabrication equipment and systems.

+ Setting up and operating of various shop equipment e.g. drill press, grinders, band saws, hydraulic press and other common tools.

+ Adhere to safety guidelines and contribute to a high standard of excellence related to safety culture

+ Other duties assigned by management

Required Skills / Abilities

+ Metal fabrication including welding skills for Stainless and Mild Steel; TIG, MIG and Stick welding. Proficient with hand tools, saws, drills, grinders, and any other fabrication equipment

+ Ability to understand and read technical drawings and specifications

+ Ability to plan technical fabrication work, understand necessary details, and follow through on execution of project

+ Ability to work long hours and be able to work day or night shifts

+ Understanding of different materials, their properties, and their correct usages in an industrial setting

+ Performing routine maintenance on fabrication equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed

+ Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

+ Conducting tests and inspections of products or projects to evaluate quality and performance.

+ Effectively collaborate with other members of the packing house including, but not limited to, production management, maintenance management, machine operators, and mechanics/technicians.

+ Work safely at heights, on ladders, on equipment, or in any other variety of around, above, under, or near equipment to safely complete designated work.

Physical Requirement

+ Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods

+ Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly

+ Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating tools and machinery

+ Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise, fumes)

+ Ability to climb ladders or work from elevated platforms as needed

+ Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses

Experience

+ Minimum 3+ years of experience
