    Job Description

    Research Project Manager (Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA):

    Job Duties:

    Guide and allocate resources for economic research to meet project goals, conduct research on retirement financial security, and support the team of Center for Retirement Research (CRR) researchers in delivering internal and external research projects.

    Duties include:

    Apply knowledge of economics, research methodologies, and economic statistical data analysis to ensure efficient distribution of resources among Research Associates and Student Research Associates.

     

    Collect and provide feedback/input to ensure Research Associates are engaged and optimally matched to projects.

     

    Provide training and support to Research Associates and serve as a resource for econometric, data, or coding questions.

     

    Establish and monitor project timelines and deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.

     

    Develop systems, protocols, and processes to ensure smooth project delivery, and mentor Research Associates to advance expertise in terms of domain and methodologies.

     

    Assist researchers with the selection of data sources and appropriate empirical strategies during proposal writing.

     

    Implement CRR’s code auditing system.

     

    Work with PIs on multiple research projects and informal queries by managing and analyzing data and drafting research summaries.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Statistics, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience conducting research on Economics in an academic setting.

    Experience must include the following, which may have been gained concurrently:

    2 years of experience using Stata statistical, mathematical, and database programming languages such as R, MATLAB, or Python.

    2 years of experience formulating structural models and simulations for data analysis

    2 years of experience using data sources including HRS, PSID, NLYS, or SIPP.

    2 years of experience conducting economic research related to retirement or a similar topic.

    2 years of experience using research methodologies and econometric techniques.

    2 years of experience writing and publishing economic deliverables for academic and general audiences.

    1 year of experience managing personnel resources

     

    Full-time employment.
