Seeking a Construction Laborer in the Cedar Rapids Area!!

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated construction laborers for our Cedar Rapids location, specializing in pre-engineered metal buildings. The successful candidate will participate in various construction activities, including erecting metal posts and studs, attaching sheet metal, insulating, and drywalling interiors.

Responsibilities

+ Erect metal posts and studs.

+ Attach sheet metal using power drills.

+ Insulate and drywall building interiors.

+ Assist experienced tradespeople with materials and tools.

+ Operate lifts and ensure safety during operations.

+ Handle and move metal sheets weighing up to 100 lbs.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 6 months construction experience.

+ Proficiency with power tools and hand tools.

+ Understanding of general labor and construction practices.

+ Valid Driver's License.

+ Ability to lift 75 lbs.

+ Comfortable working from a lift 20ft+ in the air.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with sheet metal and carpentry.

+ Mechanical aptitude.

+ General construction knowledge.

Work Environment

The work environment includes new, unoccupied construction buildings. You will work in teams of 3-5 people with normal hours from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional longer days and a couple of Saturdays a month. The dress code consists of jeans, a t-shirt/sweatshirt, and leather work boots.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
