Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
This position is for a 1st shift temporary forklift driver at a large paper recycling plant. The role involves operating a sit-down forklift for 90% of the shift, with the remaining 10% dedicated to cleaning tasks, such as emptying boxes and throwing them into the compactor. The position may become permanent depending on circumstances. The most critical skill is loading and unloading trailers.
Responsibilities
+ Operate a sit-down forklift efficiently and safely.
+ Load and unload trailers independently.
+ Perform cleaning tasks including emptying and compacting boxes.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
+ 6+ months of forklift experience in a recent job.
+ Proficiency in loading and unloading trailers with forklift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a material handler in manufacturing.

Work Environment
The work environment is one of the largest recycling plants in Omaha, characterized by a dirty setting with cardboard and paper covering the floors. Candidates must wear jeans and steel-toed boots at all times. The plant is not climate-controlled, with open garage gates resulting in very cold winters and very hot summers. Forklifts, which are Linde models, have heaters and doors for winter, and will be equipped with AC by September.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OMAHA, Nebraska.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.09 - $19.09/hr.
