    TEKsystems (Mission Viejo, CA)


    Job Title: Emergency Room Clerk / Admitting Representative

     

    Employment Type: Full-time & Part-time

     

    Compensation: $23/hour

    Shifts Available:

    + Mission Hospital:

    + LOA Emergency Room Clerk: 10-hour shifts starting at 5:30 AM or 6:30 AM

    + Midshift/Evening: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM start times (10-hour shifts)

    + Night Shift: 7:00 PM start time (10-hour shifts)

    + Main Admitting: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM start times

    + St. Joseph Hospital:

    + Part-time LOA: 10:00 AM or 12:30 PM start times (10-hour shifts, includes weekends)

    Training:

    + 2–3 weeks during standard business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 30-minute lunch)

    + Includes 1 day of classroom training, followed by shadowing and hands-on practice (total ~120 hours)

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Register patients and verify insurance information

    + Accurately input and upload consent forms into MYCHART

    + Run reports, audit accounts, and collect co-pays

    + Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced ER environment

    + Collaborate with nurses, physicians, EMTs, and administrative staff

    + Maintain accuracy in grammar and spelling when entering patient data

    + Operate mobile computer stations while on your feet for extended periods

    Requirements:

    + Strong communication and writing skills

    + Experience in healthcare support and insurance verification

    + Ability to work weekends and holidays (24/7 hospital operations)

    + Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn

    + Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced setting

    Additional Notes:

    + Monthly schedules are released on Wednesdays; time-off requests must be submitted in advance

    + One evening role includes document scanning and MYCHART uploads

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
