    Summary

    The Second Shift Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the second shift, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality standards. This role includes coordinating team activities, troubleshooting issues, and acting as a liaison between operators and management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    + Lead and direct production team members during the second shift to meet daily goals and deadlines.

    + Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and company procedures.

    + Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and adjust resources as needed to optimize production efficiency.

    + Train and mentor new and existing employees, fostering a positive and productive team environment.

    + Perform regular quality checks and assist with resolving production or equipment issues.

    + Communicate effectively with other shifts, departments, and management to ensure smooth operations.

    + Maintain accurate documentation, including shift reports, production logs, and incident records.

    + Assist with inventory control and material handling as needed.

    + Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

    _Qualifications:_

    + High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

    + 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

    + Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and safety standards.

    + Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions under pressure.

    + Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems).

    + Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

    + Capable to operate a forklift and front-end loader.

    _Physical Requirements:_

    + _Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods._

    + _Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may be noisy, hot, or cold._
