The Application Engineer - Motors is Is the primary technical resource for all orders concerning low voltage motors and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technical aspect of the order process.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Communicate with Field Sales, Customer(s), engineering group and factories effectively.
+ Compile and compose accurate proposals to customers of WEG-s product offering, reviewing the supplied information (specifications, emails, phone calls, etc.)
+ Provide technical and commercial training and mentoring to more Junior team members, inside sales, field sales and customers as appropriate.
+ Lead and take ownership of the quotation/opportunity by requesting feedback from Sales, or directly from customers.
+ Identify project/customer details vital for determining quotation strategies and competitive strengths/weaknesses.
+ Assist LV & MV Motors team members technically or commercially as needed.
+ Create working instructions and procedures, SOP (Standard Operational Procedures) & Customer Specific Guidelines.
+ Participate and lead conference calls and/or customer visits with or without sales assistance.
+ Provide guidance to Order Entry team to insure accurate order configuration.
+ Custom projects developments - OEMs.
+ Get feedback directly from customers with limited help from the outside sales team.
+ Able to make electrical and mechanical calculations with the available engineering software.
+ Create technical documentation (datasheets, drawings, torsional analysis,) with the available engineering software.
+ Purchasing agreement evaluation together with the legal team.
+ Technical and commercial support for the development of new product lines.
+ Special products strategy price definition.
+ Development and contribution of technical and sales tools, aiming to give independence to the sales teams.
+ Coordinate projects and customers developments, negotiating with the necessary company areas in order to guarantee projects delivery time and assertiveness.
+ Coordinate and keep track on projects Pipelines, reporting the status regularly to management.
+ Creation and presentation of technical/commercial proposals to the Committees
Education: (minimum education or equivalent in relevant experience)
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent in related experience.
Knowledge / training:
+ Proficient in MS Office Applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
+ Able to read, speak, understand and compose clear technical dialog in English is required.
+ Understands complex level customers specifications.
+ Deep knowledge of industry complex standards specifications such as NEMA MG1, IEEE 841, is required.
+ Advanced understanding of in-house application programs to secure medium to complex level designs without factory support.
+ SAP program on diversified activities and transactions related to the daily work.
+ Deep understanding of cost and pricing structures of the company products.
+ Advanced understanding of the sales process for LV & MV Motor products.
+ Advanced understanding of the industry requirements and applications.
+ Advanced understanding of OEMs, EPCs and End Users of the industry in order to provide solutions accordingly.
+ Advanced understanding of market trends, legislation and/or environment changes that can affect the business.
+ Advanced understanding of competition and their strong/weak points is required.
+ Advanced knowledge of LV and MV WEG motors products, including product scopes.
+ Advanced understanding of Project Management for Business Developments
+ Advanced skills in leading meetings, including setting agendas, preparing, facilitating discussions and follow-up.
+ Able to calculate products profitability and return on invested capital (ROIC).
+ Skilled at product demonstrations & presentations to sales teams and customers.
+ Leadership in meetings.
Experience:
+ 3 years of relevant work experience or 7 years of relevant work experience with LV and/or MV motors.
