Description
We are looking for a skilled Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic team in San Mateo, California. This contract position offers an opportunity to support physicians and patients by handling both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding customer service skills while contributing to a patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate patient rooming and flow by preparing for visits, assisting during appointments, and completing post-visit tasks.
• Escort patients to exam rooms promptly, adhering to established rooming standards.
• Support clinicians with procedures and tasks as needed, contributing as a collaborative team member.
• Utilize lean techniques to optimize patient workflows and ensure efficiency.
• Handle patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes, including updating demographics and posting payments.
• Resolve billing issues, address claims discrepancies, and ensure necessary authorizations are obtained before visits.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding scheduling, billing, and other concerns.
• Troubleshoot issues with My Kids Chart and offer guidance to patients using the platform.
• Execute benefit-related functions and monitor cash activity with accuracy.
• Manage complaint handling to ensure patient satisfaction and compliance with service standards.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within healthcare or medical administration.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and EHR systems, with experience in McKesson preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, for data management and reporting.
• Knowledge of billing processes, claim administration, and benefit functions.
• Ability to handle cash activity and accurately post payments.
• Exceptional public relations and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and physicians.
• Familiarity with complaint resolution and customer service strategies.
