    Job Title: Medical Assistant, Sr.Department: Internal Medicine Location: Henrietta Medical CampusHours Per Week: 40Schedule: M - F 8AM - 5PM Sign-On Bonus: $0SUMMARY: While performing in the role of medical assistant, provides knowledge, expertise and guidance to the healthcare team. In a patient-centered manner, assists with providing clinical and clerical support to medical providers, in collaboration with nursing and medical support staff, in a medical office setting.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Demonstrates expertise in specialized skills, providing guidance, oversight, and training to less experienced staff while serving as a resource for complex issues, cases, and technical tasks.

    + Performs comprehensive clinical duties, including pre-visit planning, patient outreach for gaps in care, obtaining and documenting vital signs and histories, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, POCT, specimen collection, and assisting providers with procedures.

    + Supports patient care processes, such as reviewing and pending medication refills, submitting prior authorizations, completing forms, preparing educational materials, and assisting with patient education under provider or RN guidance.

    + Maintains clinical readiness and compliance, ensuring proper calibration and cleaning of equipment, restocking and organizing supplies, preparing instruments for sterilization, and ordering clinical materials as needed.

    + Executes non-clinical administrative responsibilities, including managing medical records, processing referrals, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting and posting payments, and handling patient check-in/check-out activities.

    + Engages in quality and regulatory initiatives, compiling data for quality assurance/improvement projects, supporting regulatory preparedness, and participating in additional assigned responsibilities.

    + Provides exceptional patient support services, such as assisting with MyCare enrollment, coordinating patient escorts, sending physical packets, handling provider communications, and delivering timely, accurate follow-up.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Strong customer service, computer, and communication skills highly desired.

    + Associates degree preferred.

    + Ambulatory Employment: Experience in pre-hospital care activities or acute/critical care experience preferred.

    + Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

    + Elder ONE Employment: One year experience with frail, elderly population preferred

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
