    Savannah Technical College is seeking a full-time Barbering Faculty for the Public Services Division. This role includes teaching all phases of the barbering curriculum, overseeing program compliance, and effectiveness. The faculty member is responsible for ensuring that instruction, equipment, and facilities meet industry, state board, and accreditation standards while supporting student success through advising, mentoring, and career readiness initiatives.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Active State of Georgia Master Barber License

    + Earned high school diploma or equivalent

    + Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in barbering within the last five (5) years

    + Familiarity with state board examination preparation

    + Ability and willingness to work at multiple campus locations, as assigned

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution in a related field

    + Prior teaching/training experience (preferably in a post-secondary setting)

    + Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting

    + Familiarity with technical college accreditation standards

     

    Physical Demands

     

    Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, or pulling in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight up to 50 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. The employee regularly interacts and communicates with students, employees, and the general public.

     

    Salary/Benefits

     

    Target salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
