    Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland- Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Sales Representative at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling flat-rolled metal products to industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

     

    Summary of Responsibilities

     

    + Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone, e-mail and in-person to qualify leads and sell products and services.

    + Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.

    + Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.

    + Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.

    + Estimates date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

    + Builds and maintains customers’ relationships.

    + Prepares reports of business transactions.

    + Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.

    + Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

    + Travels to and attends trade shows.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma/GED.

    + Previous supervisor experience

    + Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)

    + Excellent customer oral and written communication skills

    + Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making

    + Collaborative; builds and works with teams

    + Ability to coach and mentor

    + Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
