    Configuration Management Process Lead

    Job Description

    As a Configuration Management and Document Control Process Improvement Lead, you will spearhead the enhancement of our Configuration Management (CM) and Document Control processes. Your role involves analyzing current practices, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing superior solutions to improve accuracy, traceability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Strong experience in CM, document control systems, and continuous improvement methodologies is essential for success in this position.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate existing CM and document control processes and tools to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance risks.

    + Develop and implement process improvement strategies aligned with industry standards such as AS9100 and CMMI.

    + Lead the standardization and automation of document control workflows, ensuring timely review, approval, distribution, and archival of controlled documents.

    + Maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

    + Collaborate with engineering, quality, IT, and operations teams, providing training and support on new processes and tools.

    + Act as a subject matter expert for CM and document control best practices.

    + Evaluate and recommend tools (e.g., PLM, PDM, DMS) to support improved processes.

    + Define KPIs to measure process effectiveness and compliance, providing regular reports to leadership on progress and performance.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in configuration management and document control.

    + Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives.

    + Strong knowledge of standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar.

    + Experience with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena).

    + Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

    + Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Nuclear experience preferred but not required.

    + Aerospace or military/weapons experience would be advantageous.

    + Knowledge of PLM systems, with Team Center preferred.

    + Authorized to work in the U.S.

    Work Environment

    This role offers flexibility with options for onsite work in Wilmington, NC, or remote work. Several team members are already remote, and remote work is a strong possibility, especially with nuclear experience. You will be supporting next-generation nuclear development and technology, working alongside cross-functional groups committed to cleaner energy solutions.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $73.00/hr.
