    As a Passive Optical Device engineer, you will design optical circuits using passive optical components such as FBT/PLC splitters and WDM filters to meet designated optical functional requirements. We value teamwork, so you will be expected to work onsite at our North Carolina office. This is an onsite role.

    How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

    • Understand the technical concept of “Passive Optical Device/Component” and gain technical competency in the POD domain: the industry standards GR-1209 & GR-1221, and corresponding IEC standards

    • Design optical circuits using passive optical components for different POD modules such as LGX, FOSC, and 1RU, by collaborating with suppliers

    • Use optical, mechanical, and statistical knowledge to maintain existing products, improve quality, and reduce cost

    • Work as a core team member on POD projects

    • Provide daily support to local PLM

    Required Qualifications for Consideration:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field, with two or more years of experience

    Salary and Benefits:

    Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.

     

    The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including, medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
