    Job Overview

     

    Fairview is looking for a Nurse Manager to lead the Float Pool and Administrative Nursing Supervisor team at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This Nurse Manager manages nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director. This includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities. This individual will typically work Monday through Friday normal business hours, but those could possibly go into the evening or weekends as needed as well.

     

    Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it’s the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community.

    About Our Float Pool Department at Woodwinds Hospital

    + Our team is prepared to work in a variety of clinical environments, where every day is something new!

    + Patient Population: Ages 18+ Acute care experience, telemetry experience, and critical thinking skills are all important to be successful in this position.

    + We are looking for someone who will accel in a fast-paced environment, someone who knows how to problem solve, who is flexible and willing to learn, and who is dedicated to always putting the patient first.

     

    This nurse manager position supports the Woodwinds float pool and administrative nursing supervisor teams. The nurse manager in addition to the patient care supervisor together have responsibility for 80+ employee direct reports.

    Job Expectations:

    + Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

    + Plans, handles, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

    + Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

    + Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.

    + Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

    In addition, the Nurse Manager:

    + Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

    + Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

    + Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.

    + Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

    + In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.

    + Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

    + Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.

    + Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

    + Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing

    + 3+ years of nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role

    + Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.

    + BLS certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Supervisor or Manager experience

    + Master’s Degree in Nursing

    + ANCC or AONL Certification

    The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
