Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Concord, California. This is a long-term contract position suitable for someone who excels in managing financial data and supporting accounting operations related to purchase orders and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in accounting software, numerical data entry, and auditing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Enter Payables transactions and data accurately into accounting software and Excel spreadsheets.

• Perform regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Assist in reconciling accounts and preparing detailed financial reports.

• Support the accounting team with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks.

• Verify and process accounting entries while adhering to established protocols.

• Maintain organized records and documentation for auditing purposes.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve workflow efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational policies related to financial processes.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools.

• Strong numerical data entry skills with attention to detail.

• Experience with auditing practices and procedures.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data management.

• Familiarity with general accounting principles and processes.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Previous experience in a government or public sector setting is a plus.
