Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract role, you will play an essential part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for both employees and subsidiary companies across multiple states. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring onsite presence at least two days per week.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for employees and subsidiary companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Update and maintain payroll records, including employee changes such as new hires, terminations, and adjustments to pay or benefits.
• Reconcile payroll reports and address discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity.
• Collaborate with the Benefits team to verify accurate deductions related to employee benefits.
• Support year-end activities, including W-2 preparation and audit processes.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and system issues efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
• Assist the Payroll Director in payroll system integration efforts, including data preparation, testing, and validation.
• Provide support to employees by addressing payroll-related inquiries, such as password resets and cost center updates. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing within mid-to-large organizations.
• Familiarity with payroll system integrations and platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, or similar systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll-related tasks and reporting.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to address payroll issues effectively.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
• Certification in payroll systems or related areas is a plus.
