Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our client's team. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance, and managing reporting processes across multiple areas of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in financial management and a solid understanding the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise compliance employees and oversee loan compliance reporting while managing the loan reserve process.

• Ensure adherence to documented fee arrangements between investment entities and the management company.

• Maintain and enforce internal policies, controls, and company debt obligations.

• Perform treasury functions and manage the commercial draw process with lending institutions for new developments.

• Provide oversight and support for internal system platforms.

• Assist in preparing annual property and management company budgets, including fee schedules, escrows, mortgages, insurance, and expense reimbursements.

• Collaborate on investor reporting through the investor portal and review annual work papers for accuracy and completeness.

• Maintain a strong understanding of partnership taxation and assist third-party contractors in property tax appeals.

• Work with external accounting firms to prepare federal and state tax returns and generate personal financial statements for key investors.

• Prepare property-level information for financing and investment purposes as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or a related field.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger, and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of debt financing and compliance management.

• Familiarity with real estate industry.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
