    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to join our team at a high-volume, small-parts packaging facility that supports customer care and aftersales. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and quality resolution of packaging solutions using corrugated materials, ensuring parts are delivered damage-free to dealerships and service centers across the country. The facility also manages large freight for international shipments, although this is not the primary focus.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and implement packaging solutions for small automotive parts, considering cost, sustainability, and damage reduction.

    + Manage the influx of approximately 50 new part numbers weekly, setting up packaging specifications.

    + Address fit issues and inbound delivery problems, ensuring rapid resolution to maintain operations.

    + Participate in supplier meetings and quality calls to resolve packaging-related issues.

    + Establish and maintain packaging standards and guidelines, ensuring adherence by all employees.

    + Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within a 10-day window, targeting significant savings.

    + Use expendable materials such as corrugated, foam, and bubble wrap for packaging solutions.

    + Work independently on-site, managing projects and troubleshooting on the plant floor.

    + Conduct vendor evaluations and manage supplier relationships.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product introductions and market delivery.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or Industrial Engineering.

    + 1-3 years of experience in packaging engineering within an automotive environment.

    + Experience with cost savings and damage reduction strategies.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, and CAPE palletization software.

    + Strong analytical skills for problem-solving.

    + Ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong project management and communication skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Knowledge of CCA packaging operations and warehouse network.

    + Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Access and Power BI.

    + Experience in aftermarket automotive packaging.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.
