Definition
Columbus Water & Power, Water Reclamation, is looking to fill an Electronic System Technician Supervisor position within its Jackson Pike Water Reclamation Plant. This full-time position is responsible for the supervisory control of the Electronic Instrumentation section and all repairs related to instrumentation at a wastewater treatment facility and pump stations. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, supervising technical staff; supervising work for repair, installations and troubleshooting of electronic equipment; assigning and performing instrumentation calibrations and system checks on various devices including PLC’s and SCADA; inspecting equipment and notifying management of major repairs; performing preventative maintenance on electronic and electro-mechanical equipment; troubleshooting wiring circuits and PLC programs, completing performance reviews, recommending discipline, and approving leave requests; other duties as assigned.
Shift: Monday-Friday 7 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

Under direction, is responsible for supervising technical staff engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment for telephone, radio, mobile data, data processing, traffic control, video, or instrumentation and control systems; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)
Supervises technical staff to include signing performance reviews, recommending discipline, and approving leave requests;
Prioritizes and assigns projects to Electronic System Technicians; reviews the quality, progress, and completion of assignments; prepares work orders and explains work procedures;
Identifies the need for, and recommends the purchase of items, parts, and supplies used for maintenance and repair work;
Installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates/adjusts electronic equipment in order to maintain proper operating standards; performs preventative maintenance on electronic and electro-mechanical equipment;
Repairs and replaces electronic and electro-mechanical equipment at the component level;
Installs, calibrates, and repairs various chemical additive equipment, electronic control valves, pumping devices, and process control instrumentation such as liquid flow meters, chemical analyzers, and liquid level, pressure, and temperature sensors;
Programs remote terminal units and programmable logic controllers for water collection, treatment, and distribution processes; installs and maintains variable frequency drives;
Operates various electronic test and measuring devices such as a multimeter, oscilloscope, calibrator, line tester, RF power meter, and other diagnostic tools in order to test equipment and ensure proper functioning;
Interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturers' manuals to assist in troubleshooting and repairing telephone, radio, computer, process control instrumentation, or other electronic equipment;
Determines the quality, size, capability, and quantity of materials necessary for an assignment;
Trains personnel regarding performance of duties to include safety concerns such as the use of personal protective equipment and precautions when working with and around power sources.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience performing fully-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of electronic equipment for telephone, radio, mobile data, data processing, traffic control, video, or instrumentation and control systems .
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
