MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either:

+ Successful completion of a two-year post-secondary program for heavy diesel engine equipment technician; OR

+ Successful completion of a two-year program for Automotive Technology and one (1) year of experience as a skilled heavy equipment automotive mechanic, which shall have involved repair and maintenance of heavy-duty gasoline or diesel engine automotive equipment used in construction, farming or commercial fleet operations. Note: Experience must be at the skilled mechanic level. Performing minor repairs and maintenance incidental to operating heavy automotive equipment is not considered qualifying experience; OR

+ Two (2) years of experience as listed in B. above.

This position will require driving a school bus route.

C andidates must be at least 21 years of age and complete training requirements specified by the NYS Department of Education pursuant to 8 NYCRR Education (A), Part 156.
