    DESCRIPTION

    We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in West Chester, OH.

    You will make an impact in the following ways:

    + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

    + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

    + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

    + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

    + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

    + Maintain own tools

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    + Completes complex internal engine repairs

    + Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls

    + Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

    + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

    + Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

     

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    Base salary rate commensurate with experience.     Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

     

    Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

     

    Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

     

    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

     

    Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Complete JSA's prior to all work

     

    Complete courtesy inspection process

     

    Utilize diagnostic tools and upload ECM images to Guidanz

     

    Follow Guidanz troubleshooting procedures and document till root cause is found

     

    Create repair plans and parts lists utilizing srt's

     

    Communicate with shop supervisor to verify next steps or acquire next job

     

    Follow repair plan and manage time and efficiency through BMS

     

    Willing to work on almost any component of a truck, bus, rv, concrete truck, refuse truck, or almost anything!!

     

    Wear PPE and follow safety policies and procedures - Be proactive to correct hazards when found to promote safety culture

     

    Be eager to learn and keep up to date with certifications and trainings

     

    Be willing to travel for training

     

    Perform high level of workmanship with customer focus “Would I be happy if this repair was made for me”

     

    Maintain a clean work area

     

    Keep a positive attitude!

     

    - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

     

    - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

     

    - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

     

    - A current valid license is required for this role

     

    - Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

    - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
