Description

Sara Walker with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various AP tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, and providing support to multiple departments. This position also serves as a backup to the Accounts Payable Manager, contributing to the seamless operation of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Process invoices using three-way matching to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.

• Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies promptly.

• Prepare payments through checks, wire transfers, and other methods as required.

• Manage union dues, rent, and lease payments efficiently and on time.

• Review and process employee expense reports using the Certify platform.

• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external vendors.

• Troubleshoot accounts payable issues and implement solutions to maintain smooth operations.

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and financial regulations in all AP activities.

• Perform occasional on-site tasks, such as sorting and distributing mail.

• Serve as a resource for the AP team and step in for the Accounts Payable Manager when needed.

Requirements • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in accounts payable with a solid understanding of accounting procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, databases, and banking portals.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

• Exceptional communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams professionally.

• Knowledge of invoice coding and check run processes.

• Familiarity with expense reporting platforms, such as Certify.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
