As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. Responsibilities include:
* Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
* Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
* Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
* Round with the medical team and provide patient care interventions
* Precepting students and/or residents as appropriate
* Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients.
* Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
* Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
* Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
* Demonstrating ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
* Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.

* Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago
* Candidates with less than 1 year of experience
In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met :
* Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
* Must remain in original department/specialty
* Must remain in original Job Title
* Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

*Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:*
* BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree

*Required Certification/Registration:*
* California Pharmacist License
* AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
* Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
*Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:*
* Experience in a multi-site health system pharmacy enterprise;
* Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents
* PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area preferred.
