    Electro-Mechanical Inspector 2

    Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented and motivated individual for our assembly inspection team in **Charlottesville** , **VA** . This position will support the inspection function in our AS1 manufacturing cell and wire prep assembly cell as well as providing support for other areas as needed.

    Job Description:

    Perform in-process and final inspections on wire harness builds, maritime navigation and control units to include a review of the associated product build documentation.

     

    Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job functions.

     

    Identify discrepant conditions and generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.

     

    Maintains records of results.

     

    The use of common tooling such as calipers, tape measures and multi meters for inspection will be required for this position.

     

    Must be available to work overtime as needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

    High School Diploma/equivalent and 2 years of related experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or other equivalent experience: or additional education in Mechanical inspection, wire harness assembly/inspection, or Manufacturing with 1+ year of related experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or other equivalent experience.

     

    Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

     

    Experience in a manufacturing environment.

     

    Must be able to work occasional overtime or weekend support as required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    2+ years’ related experience using predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as wire harness assemblies, electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing crimps.

     

    2+ years’ related experience using various measuring devices. Accepts or rejects defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

     

    Experience working from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.

     

    J-STD Training or experience.

     

    IPC-A-610/620 Training or experience.

     

    Torque Training or experience.

     

    Experience working in an ESD (electrostatic discharge) environment.

     

    PPE experience.

     

    Salary Range: $39,500.00 - $65,900.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
