Organization Overview:
This role resides within the Global Manufacturing HSE team at Lilly Corporate Center. Our mission is to engage all Lilly employees in the company's goal of achieving an injury-free workplace and ensuring that our global business operations are always in compliance and contributing to a cleaner, safer environment.
Responsibilities:
This role provides technical leadership and support to help manufacturing sites effectively manage their Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs to meet compliance obligations and eliminate workplace risk. The position will work closely with the company’s industrial hygiene community to develop, implement, and improve program elements and exposure control strategies designed to eliminate physical, chemical, and biological workplace hazards. Key responsibilities for the role include:
+ Provide strategic leadership and support for the global IH program across all manufacturing sites and drive implementation of best practices through development of global training programs and comprehensive standards and procedures.
+ Provide regulatory interpretations as requested, and proactively monitor the regulatory landscape, assess potential changes, and support global change implementation as needed.
+ Provide mentoring to global HSE staff and cross-functional partners to further develop company IH capabilities.
+ Provide technical industrial hygiene support as needed for occupational exposure programs, equipment design and evaluation, and capital projects delivery.
+ Develop and drive global implementation of processes, tools, risk analysis techniques and assessments to aid in the control of personnel exposure potential to chemical, physical and biological workplace hazards.
+ Work in close partnership with key internal stakeholders to continuously improve all aspects of the global IH program (e.g., site Industrial Hygienists, Engineering Technical Center resources, Industrial Hygiene Laboratory, Legal Counsel, and Employee Health Services staff).
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related 4-year science degree
+ Minimum 10 years of experience in the Industrial Hygiene field
Additional Skills/Preferences:
+ Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) professional certification
+ Master’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene or closely related field
+ Manufacturing and Laboratory experience
+ Significant experience in Ergonomics and/or Biosafety
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a corporate role across a complex manufacturing organization to implement and communicate solutions at all levels of the organization
+ Demonstrated project management / planning capability
+ Demonstrated mentoring skills and leadership abilities
+ Auditing experience and excellent communication and technical writing skills

+ Some domestic and/or international travel is required (5-10%)

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,000 - $162,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
