Job Title: Assembly Conveyance Production Engineer

Job Description
The role involves the introduction of new models for logistics pilots, including dock layout, parts list confirmation, packaging confirmation, dolly design, and confirmation. The engineer will communicate with pilot assembly and conveyance to ensure efficient process setup. Responsibilities include mass production conveyance and logistics engineering, dock layout changes, equipment modifications, and delivery systems kaizen, focusing on safety and KANBAN. The engineer will also handle automation and innovation for material handling, benchmarking, capital planning, cost management, project planning and implementation, and conveyance training and handover.
Responsibilities
+ Introduce new model logistics pilot, including dock layout and packaging confirmation.
+ Ensure efficient setup by communicating with pilot assembly and conveyance.
+ Manage mass production conveyance and logistics, including dock layout changes and equipment modifications.
+ Implement delivery systems improvements with a focus on safety and KANBAN.
+ Lead automation and innovation initiatives for material handling.
+ Contribute to plant PIV working group input and action implementation.
+ Implement PIV x pedestrian separation countermeasures and standards for PIVs.
+ Draft logistics budget for new models.
+ Order, procure, and install material handling equipment for conveyance groups.
+ Participate in cross-functional working groups for delivery efficiency.
+ Lead weekly meetings for open item discussions and support dock layout and route delivery.
+ Implement kaizen for delivery systems.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree.
+ Experience with equipment design or modifications, technical specifications, and conveyance equipment implementation.
+ Experience with new equipment installation and old equipment demolition.
+ Knowledge of equipment manufacturers (domestic and overseas) for logistics and automation installations.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing plant systems for regional compliance.
+ Experience leading and coordinating productivity and cost-related project activities.
+ Proficiency in creating and managing budgets, including cost analysis and bid packages.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in automotive assembly plant.
+ Knowledge of model changes and vehicle structure.
+ Experience with PLC and human-machine interface.
+ Proficiency in writing procedures for shop level standards.
+ Experience with manual and autonomous logistics systems.
+ Experience with robot system design and installation.
+ Experience with vision systems and automated barcode detection applications.
+ Experience managing shop space allocation and plant processing layout.
Work Environment
The assembly environment is highly automated and involves extensive use of vision systems and inspection. The role requires spending 75% of the time on the production floor. We offer two weeks of PTO, two weeks of paid shutdown, and nine paid holidays per year. There are opportunities for full-time positions due to several large projects over the next few years.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.50 - $50.00/hr.
