Public Health Registered Nurse – Women's Health
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Hourly Rate: $38/hr (travel rates available)
Start Date: 8/11 or 8/18
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Public Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support maternal and child health initiatives at our partner maternity clinic. This role focuses on promoting health education, preventive care, and community outreach to improve outcomes for mothers, infants, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Deliver public health nursing services to pregnant individuals and new mothers in a clinic setting.
+ Conduct health assessments, screenings, and immunizations.
+ Provide education on prenatal care, nutrition, breastfeeding, family planning, and infant care.
+ Collaborate with social workers, case managers, and community health workers to address social determinants of health.
+ Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to data collection for public health reporting.
+ Support emergency preparedness and response efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
+ Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact state.
+ Experience in maternal-child health, community health, or public health nursing preferred.
+ Strong communication, education, and advocacy skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
+ Commitment to health equity and culturally competent care.
