Summary
The Community Education Manager, in conjunction with the Director of Marketing, is responsible for planning and executing community education initiatives to raise awareness of St Joseph Hospital’s inpatient services. This position plays a key role in developing relationships with community health centers, organizations, insurers, and coalitions to increase awareness and generate referrals for a variety of hospital programs. The role involves the creation and management of marketing materials, event coordination, and strategic outreach to potential referral sources across the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry
+ Promote and support the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
+ Partner with community providers, hospital staff, and leadership to create and implement programs that highlight St. Joseph Hospital's inpatient services within the community.
+ Maintain a deep understanding of the hospital’s services, admission criteria, and patient care models, and communicate this effectively to potential referral sources, including medical staff and hospital departments.
+ Respond to inquiries about hospital programs and services, providing relevant and accurate information to potential referral sources.
+ Develop and manage marketing strategies, including comprehensive plans and mailing lists, reporting progress to leadership regularly.
+ Identify and execute community outreach opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with health centers, organizations, insurers, and coalitions.
+ Develop and facilitate community events, programs, and initiatives that promote St. Joseph Hospital’s services and encourage referrals.
+ Coordinate surveys and feedback mechanisms with referral sources, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
+ Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the role.

Job Requirements
Job Knowledge and Skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
+ Flexibility to adjust schedules as needed, including occasional travel.
+ Proficiency with MS Office and other relevant tools.
+ Experience in sales, marketing, or business development, preferably within healthcare.
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience
+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a marketing, community outreach, or related role.
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
+ Membership in professional organizations, such as the Healthcare Marketing and Communications Association (HMCA), is preferred.
+ Equivalent experience and education will be considered.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
