    Job Title: Chop Line Operator

    Job Description

    As a Chop Line Operator, you will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the chop line, which cuts long strands of carbon fiber into smaller pieces. You will ensure the seamless operation of the chop line by maintaining the spool rack that feeds the carbon fiber into the chopper.

    Responsibilities

    + Keep the rack supplied with spools by tying spools together for seamless transition.

    + Specify the type of cut by entering functions on an HMI screen (Graphic User Interface).

    + Monitor eyelets and remove any carbon fiber buildup.

    + Collect and tie closed bags of finished products.

    + Build backup chopper heads for the chop line as you progress.

    Essential Skills

    + One year of manufacturing experience.

    + Proficiency in machine operation and fabrication.

    + Ability to handle hand-tools and perform general labor.

    + Basic math skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in production, packaging, construction, and carpentry.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is extremely hot, with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit during summer months. It is crucial to stay hydrated. Employees must wear long sleeves, long pants, gloves, and steel-toed boots to protect against itchy carbon fiber dust. Masks and special sleeves are provided, and full suits are available for extreme dust conditions. Work is conducted in teams of two, with 12-hour shifts that include two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break. The swing schedule consists of alternating work and off days across two weeks.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Charles, Missouri.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.26 - $23.92/hr.
