    Position Purpose:

    Impliments snowmaking, grooming and operations plan. Coordinates operations with snowmakers and grooming team.

    Qualifications:

    + High School Graduate

    + 18 years of age or older

    + Valid driver’s license with no restriction

    + Ski area/industry experience

    + Equipment operation background and experience with diesel engine/hydraulic machines

    + Ability to speak, read, and write English

    + Must be punctual, reliable, able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Snowmaking, grooming, and mountain operation experience- 3 years to 5 years of experience

    + Successful management experience, of 2.5 years to 5 years, with the ability to lead and manage a crew of 20 seasonal employees for a 24-hour 3 shift module

    + Documented experience of basic mechanical skills

    + Awareness of ski area Operations, previous mountain experience is a plus

    + Skiing and/or snowboarding ability preferred

    Responsibilities:

    + Operates snowmaking equipment as directed by the Snowmaking Operation Plan.

    + Become familiar with operating instructions of all snowmaking equipment. This includes, but is not limited to compressors, pumps, snowmaking guns and snowmaking hoses. Conducts regular maintenance checks on equipment, including checking fluid

    + levels, bolts, hoses, tensions, etc. and performs needed repairs.

    + Operates grooming equipment to produce quality snow surface and maintain adequate snow levels throughout the ski area.

    + Groom trails, including snow, flattening snow, building features, and compacting snow.

    + Conducts regular maintenance checks on equipment; documents and reports mechanical and safety issues; completes and maintains maintenance logs and checklists.

    + Manual labor in other slopes and trail work.

    + Acquires acute safety practices pertaining to the above mentioned and

    + other related equipment.

    + Documents and report mechanical and safety issues, completes maintenance logs and checklists.

    + Operates snowmobiles as directed provided by Winter 4 Kids training.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

    + Under plumes of snow guns, wet and cold conditions

    + Lift heavy objects including snowmobiles

    + Skiing or walking with bamboo, signs, tools, hoses, etc.

    + Operates Grooming equipment

    Materials Used:

    + Snowmaking guns, including fan type and air water

    + Air compressors, water pumps, high pressure water and air hoses, propane torches

    + Snowmobiles and UTV

    + Must be able to lift 50lbs. of material routinely unassisted and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
