The HR Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization’s human resources policies, procedures, and practices remain compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role serves as a critical liaison between HR leadership and various internal stakeholders to ensure consistent application of policies and supports compliance initiatives across the organization. In addition to driving internal audits and policy management, the HR Compliance Manager plays an active role in employee relations investigations and supports the administration of leave and workers' compensation processes as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
+ Policy Management:
+ Develop, maintain, and regularly update policies and procedures to reflect changes in laws and best practices.
+ Ensure policy documentation is clearly communicated and accessible to employees and management.
+ Compliance Audits:
+ Lead and coordinate internal compliance audits to identify and address gaps.
+ Partner with HR team members to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
+ Regulatory Reporting:
+ Manage and submit reporting and other required compliance filings.
+ Stay current with regulatory developments to ensure proactive compliance with reporting obligations.
+ Employee Relations Support:
+ Partner with Corporate HR Director to assist in investigations involving policy violations, workplace conduct, and compliance concerns.
+ Help develop and recommend appropriate solutions, including training and coaching based on findings.
+ Cross-functional HR Support:
+ Collaborate with the Workers’ Compensation and Leave of Absence programs, ensuring alignment with compliance standards and providing support as needed.
+ Serve as a subject matter resource on leave, accommodation, and workers’ comp processes when required.
Additional Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.).
+ Experience conducting audits and managing policy updates.
+ Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
+ HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.
Education and Background:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
+ 5+ years of experience in HR compliance, employee relations, or a related HR function.
