    The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team is looking for a **Structures Test Instrumentation Engineering Manage** r to join our growing team in **Berkeley, MO** . The selected candidate will be responsible for instrumentation design, implementation, and use to support the testing and verifying the structural design of our Air Dominance, Phantom Works, and Weapons products.

     

    This job requires a determined commitment to continuous improvement that will drive increased quality, efficiency, and schedule performance. The ideal candidate will need to focus on and understand the key problems and lead the team to innovate and solve the root causes. A true focus on people, understanding how they are the key to our success and a commitment to developing them individually, is required. This position would be in charge of the Instrumentation and Test Control team that supports the structural test labs working in collaboration with the Structures Test managers.

     

    As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on the latest military weapons and aircraft programs, such as: T-7A Redhawk, MQ-25A Stingray, various Phantom Works programs, various Boeing Weapons programs, and our legacy programs like F-15 and F/A-18 into the future.

    Position Responsibilities Include:

    + Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Instrumentation, Data Acquisition, and Test Control for Structural Test and Evaluation Engineering. These activities include, but are not limited to: Instrumentation Design, Install & Checkout, Data Processing, and Test Control Design, Setup and Execution.

    + Develop and execute the required staffing and resource plans related to Structures Test Instrumentation activities at the team level.

    + Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with the customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

    + Responsible and accountable for the cost, schedule, and technical performance while understanding and coordinating programmatic aspects

    + Develop and engage employees through coaching, mentoring, and employee performance assessment, as well as identifying growth opportunities and assignments that best fit the needs of the individual and the company.

    + Use communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to change and deal with ambiguity

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    + Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

    + 3+ years of experience leading or managing cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or test

    + 3+ years of experience working in hardware systems test or design, lab testing, or systems engineering role

    + 3+ years of experience in test instrumentation planning, installation, and/or design

    + Experience in test and evaluation engineering

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    + Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

    + 5+ years of experience leading integrated teams to perform Instrumentation design and/or instrumentation installation.

    + complex structural testing (static, loads calibration, fatigue life) on military aircraft

    + 3+ years of experience managing complex schedules across the Product Test Life Cycle

    + Experience with and knowledge of Control Account Management (CAM), Earned Value Management (EVM), and Project Management experience

    Summary pay range: $129,200 – $174,800
