    The Environmental Remediation Manager oversees the planning, execution, and management of environmental remediation projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. This role is responsible for managing site investigations, developing remediation strategies, supervising field teams and subcontractors, and ensuring safe, effective, and timely project completion.

    Responsibilities

    * Lead and manage remediation projects from initial assessment through site closure, including investigation, design, permitting, implementation, and reporting.

    * Develop and oversee work plans, health and safety plans, budgets, and schedules.

    * Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, state-specific programs).

    * Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal project teams.

    * Select and manage subcontractors for remediation design and implementation (e.g., excavation, soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment).

    * Prepare and review technical documents, including site assessments, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, and progress reports.

    * Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to health and safety standards and environmental protocols.

    * Support business development activities, including proposal writing, cost estimating, and client presentations.

    * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff and field personnel.

    * Stay informed of evolving remediation technologies, best practices, and regulatory changes.

    Qualifications

    * Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field required.

    * Master’s degree is a plus.

    * Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.

    * 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.

    * Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and remediation technologies.

    * Excellent project management, communication, and client-relations skills.

    * Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.

    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS, AutoCAD, or environmental modeling software is a plus.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment

    * Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions such as precipitation, extreme cold or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.

    * Office work requiring long-term sitting and computer work

    The physical requirements for this position may include and are not limited to:

    + Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs

    + Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as drive long distances

    + Frequent use of fingers, hands and arms for typing, cellphone

    + Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, lift, carry, and push repetitively

    + Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate sometimes with noisy environments

    + Ability to see, smell, hear and touch as well as reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit

    + Ability to regularly lift and/or move/shake up to 40lbs. (soil and/or concrete tests and related apparatus); frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs. (soil and sand samples, and nuclear density equipment)
